That's what I find the most powerful about poetry - the emotions can be really overwhelming.

I'm a part-time barista at this point and while I've always been a tea-fan first and foremost I grew to love good coffee. Can't really imagine my life without it now. ^^
Ugh, ADHD is tough to deal with. :/ I hope you'll get the best treatment!

Those restaurants are considered Very Fancy around here XDXD Goose liver is delicious! I know a girl who studied at Gundel (very traditional, very old, top-notch place) and she made that once at a family dinner. 🤤 Ooh, but dumplings are the best when they're home-made, so good choice there.

Vendéglő means restaurant. Well, actually it means 'a place to welcome guests with lots of delicious food' :) Uh, that's a really hungarian thing, especially in the countryside.

Hmm, jazzclub. I know one which is really great, Klub Vittula - it has jazz&funk nights, rock and metal nights, even some electro sometimes... It's a wild space. Young and local and cheap, very Budapest-vibe, but most places I know are XD One of my coworkers actually owns a metal-pub and it's surprisingly nice XD
But, to be more traditional, Budapest Jazz Club is a classic. It has the best music in the city - musicians come from all over the world to perform here, from pros to newbies with exciting new albums -, the booze is fine and affordable but the bistro is average, so I'd advise to dine somewhere else XD
Which could give you an even more... authentic experience however are the folk dance nights. Basically it's live upbeat folk music, lots of booze and dancing all night long. At the free, unofficial gigs, which you can only know if you know someone, haha, there are almost only young people XDXD. Which is weird, because these are the most... uniting events a hungarian person can attend. You can spot ladies and gents in their sixties, 8 year old children and everyone inbetween. One thing is for sure - I'm not a big dancer but even I had fun when I went to these nights. I just realized this is a stereotype hungarian thing but it's really not that common. I just grew up in that circle of people and interest, but this is not the norm, haha.
Anyway, Fonó is the crowned king for decades now at this, you can watch concerts there, learn traditional dances, get rare albums. At the same time, it's in the top 20 among the globe's world music record studios. It's a unique place to visit.

Haha, even the kitchens and restaurants I know are taking you off the beaten path XD definitely needs a local to guide you through those. I can make a list tho, if you want to experience the city more like a local. (It's cheaper and more, well, real that way). For example the best lángos is sold in a local market in district XVII and the line is always big there. You can get the best chimney cake in a really ugly neighboorhoud (right next to the best sushi place in Budapest, haha), and it's not big and fancy like the ones they sell to tourists but it's the most delicious in the whole city! Lacikonyha - the most hungarian street kitchen is actually hard to find nowadays, because everything is taken over by nu age stuff but thanks to late grandpa I know a few too. Hearty soups, sausage and pickles and fried fish and meat! It tastes like home XD
The best teahouse is a nondescript black door, you can only find it if you know it. Good strudel is a religious experience for me, and there's an old lady's place I know, and her stuff is golden.
OMG I got carried away a bit, wow, sorry? I should just stop now.

Anyway, if you come to Budapest again feel free to ask me about anything :D (if you're not frigtened by the word-vomit)
