Twittering birds never fly... or do they?

I have an endless fascination with dimensional travel through stories.

Manifesto

This is my online home. It's a queer little corner of the internet full of my favorite pop-culture characters holding hands, cuddling and kissing (regardless of gender and other bourgeois social constructs) for fun.
Also, I've been suffering from ADHD, depression and severe social anxiety for more years than I could count so please be nice if somehow for some goddamn reason you find this page. For the sake of the remnants of my mental health I may share some ramblings about my daily life and frustrations here too, besides writings and translations (my main gig, tho the last decade wasn't very nice... I'm slow and erratic creation-wise.)

Snowflake Challenge - Day 4&5

laraflame: (Lord give me the strength)

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

I wasn't really good at goal-setting in the past, and that is to put it mildly. But it motivates me like hell and serves as encouragement too. From me to me. Much love and care,
xoxo

Not to be FANNISH but YES:
Some years ago I started to translate a multichaptered Drarry fic and almost finished it by now. I have to admit, with the new fandoms and ships enveloping me I didn't have the time or motivation to make any progress with it but this year I really want to wrap it up. It'll free up some space for other projects too.

Which is most embarassing - I have a gift exchange fic still sitting and growing among my files... It was due A LONG TIME AGO, but I was never satisfied with it, or got stuck in the middle. Driving me up the wall. -___- Imma tackle that monster til the end of February. I have to. The last remnants of my sanity depend on that. Oh, and btw - it's Mo Dao Zu Shi. Loving it to pieces but ath the same time s u f f e r i n g.

On another note, I'm keen on meeting my [community profile] getyourwordsout writing goal of 75k words. In a year, I think that's a sensible goal (and the lowest, hahahaha). When I was at my peak I effortlessly wrote out that amount in three months, so. I want to get back to that mental state, even surpass it, if I can. So I'll put up a progress tracker under my intro post in the sidebar and maybe in my DW profile too, for motivational purposes. Annnd it looks kinda cute, isn't it?

I wrote an original little story for an annual Christmas exchange - in Hungarian, but that's not the point now - and accidentally created my own characters. And the thing is - I like them. A lot. And they started to live in my head, which sounds mildly terrifying now that I think about it but at the same time it just feels so good. Like, I have children now! I should take responsibility. On this note, same exchange but one year back - that fic just begs for it to continue, so I should get my shit together and do just that.

Different material but. I'm a part of a manga&anime site - hungarian - and I want to make relevant progress with my assigned project there too. Meaning, translate a few books throughout the year.

I'm fully aware that the main part of me neglecting my projects is &/ was literal burning out. And, well, for more than two years now I really don't have an inspiring and safe home life experience so with that changing for the better I'll instantly turn back into my productive and constantly working self. I know. So that's gonna be my main motivation in the upcoming weeks - to get this horrible situation behind me once and for all and finally get a breather from all the stress. Just sitting back in my safe haven and breathe. After that, all the fannish work can come. All.
As far as Challenge #5 - Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've briefly interacted with and friend/follow them - is concerned, that's easy. It's mainly thanks to [community profile] snowflake_challenge that I get to know more, amazing individuals year by year and I always feel right at home among them. (HOW was I not aware that there are many many MDZS and Guardian fans on DW????)
Thank you, my special snowflakes. Thank you so-so much!

I added you to my friend list -- I'm not sure if/when I'll go back but this is great, I'm taking notes. I think we'd get along, I am also big on the word vomit.

You're not wrong, I do like fancy restaurants. I tried a less fancy one in Prague and it wasn't worth it. I mean if I'm gonna spend more I might as well spend extra to get really good food... or just get super cheap fast food. I am really bad at street food, though, so that's something I need to learn more about. You should do a blog post or sell it to a site or something! Or maybe we can co-write a post about Budapest for my blog? I can talk about where I went and then make a list of places for next time that you'd recommend, so I can find the info easily next time I go there. I'm super intrigued by the teahouse and I don't even like tea!

Thank you! Splendid!

Haha, I'm not that good with fancy yet, you see. Partially because I never had the money before, and well, that's not my main dwelling. I'm not against it tho, far from it. Streetfood, well, that's more like my style. XD I'm a hippie at heart, always has been.

I'd love to co-write for your blog, if you're still in! I could balance out the interesting, visit-worthy between the fancy and the veeery local places so it can offer something for everyone.
Hmm, I love writing!
(and that teahouse is amazing, and they have coffe, delish hot chocolate and you can smoke a shisha too)

I like to sit down to eat (indoors if at all possible, where the armchairs and the wifi are), always have, so even when I do get something in the street I just... want to sit down. LOL. I don't have enough hands! Plus I hate crowds, so that's an issue.

That'd be great. I was thinking I could do a twofer for Budapest-- I'll write a first post on what I did and where I went there, and we can co-write one about your local know-how. Maybe we could do it podcast transcription style, or just however it comes out? I'm gonna start a gdoc, I haven't cowritten anything in ages but this sounds like a lot of fun. And since I don't have pictures for your places, we can use maps for that. Let me know what email address I should share the docs with! (I usually take forever with all this but at least I have been categorizing pictures by what to edit and stuff, so there's that. Right now I need to write a post about my bar cart, and I have zero visuals for it because I drank all my top-shelf liquor already...)
